Pulse OximeterI really wanted Human2 to tell wot kind of animal dis Pulse Ox wuz but herz sed it wuz not an animal at all, but a device for her to read her oxygen leaves and pulse rate.

Human2 haz asthma and food allergies. So habbin a Pulse Oximeter around iz a good way to make sure herz getting good O2 into herz bloods. Der not very expensive and humanz are checked every time dey go into da doctors des days. So I guess it kinda like habbin a thermometer in da house.

This Easy@Home Areta Pulse Oximeter gave okay readings when compared to the doctor’s meter and two others. (see photos below H2’s review)

Easy to use and appears to give accurate readings. I tested it against three other pulse oximeters and all 3 gave similar readings. One of the test meters was from my doctors office.

I like how the display can rotate so you can read it from the side or from top to bottom.

Comes complete with everything you need. The meter, a case, lanyard and batteries. The instructions are easy to follow (and mostly not even needed).

Next tool we gets for herz gonna be a blood pressure checker fingy.

Drift TruckH2 gotted dis pawsum car in da mail da utter day and told us we had to review it fur da bloggy. We figured it could be a fun chase toy for us kittehs too.

Here iz H2’s review…

Cool car! This is a souped beetle with a lot of zoom (a little too much for my purposes). The car is all plastic construction which makes it feel cheap and made me a bit afraid of really letting loose with it.

After a few minutes of play the wheels stuck in a right turn and that is all the car could do after that. I could not get the wheels to move at all. Because of the plastic construction I was actually afraid to force the wheels back into position. So I just kept playing with it (in circles) until it got stuck and I just kept backing up and going forward hitting the front up against a recliner. After about ten hits the wheels started working again! But I wouldn’t suggest a big slam up against anything.

The drift wheels worked best for me on a wood floor but did okay on carpet. In fact the carpet was best for any forward traction needed to get up speed. Decided to swap out the wheels and leave the rubber grip wheels on the car at all times.

The remote uses buttons instead of joysticks for driving and for some reason I keep mixing them up and or not getting to the right button in time to make my turns. I am such a slacker when it comes to driving RC cars (and cars in video games too).

The car comes complete with everything you need to get started plus the two sets of wheels and a small screwdriver to change the wheels and batteries.

I think for the price you are getting a fun toy, but it most likely will not take much abuse during play. (Dis review iz alsom posted over at Amazon.com) O herz forgots to sez it lites up too!

RFID Blockers Iz ur humanz credit cards protected? Does dey knows about RFID (radio frequency identification) chips dat are in almost every credit/debit card out der des days?

Dem RFID chips can be easily scanned from a distance wif da right reader (and crooks hab da right readers). Heck, H2 & I r gonna even be able to buildin one ourselves just fur fun and to check wot r little Arduino can do.

We gotta keep r humanz moneys safe so dey can keep us in kibble and toys!

Here iz Human2’s review of da BlockIt RFID Blocking Sleeves we got to try fur dis here review.

I like the idea behind these but I am just not that “wowed” by these (or possibly any cardboard solution). They just don’t fit inside my wallet card slots. Perhaps I need to look into a different kind of wallet to be able to enjoy the security these are supposed to give us.

I say supposed to as I do not have access (yet) to a RFID reader. Once I do I will of course up date this review.

I was given a sample of both styles (1 top loading and 1 side loading) to give my honest review. Personally, I prefer the side loading as they are easier to get in and out of the wallet. But since my wallet will only house these in the pocket behind my card slots I may have to go with the top loading. Although the side loading will be nice if I decide to stick the card in my bill slot (only place they fit in my wallet, sadly.

Each sleeve almost doubles the thickness of the cards making your wallet more bulky.

Silicone Wedding BandsWhen u first hear about Silicone wedding rings u kind of wonder why?

But they really are a pretty cool idea for active men and women. I know lots of peeps, especially dog ownin peeps, like da great outdoors. Not me and my humanz we like to be inside nappin.

With silicone bands u can keep your expensive ring safe at home while at the gym or enjoying outdoor sports and activities. Not only is the ring protected so is your finger. Ever get dat ring caught on something? I know someone who practically lost their finger when they fell and their ring caught on something, nearly tearing the whole thing off. Well a silicone ring has some give and can more easily be cut off a finger, if needed, due to an injury.

This particular series of silicone rings iz great, because you get a set of rings so you can find one that fits you most comfortably. Human2 normally wears a 9-9.5 depends on the ring width for herz. The 9 was a little tight on herz. Unfortunately da set we got came with two 9s and no size 10. So we had to wait for Amazon to send out another set for herz to try a size 10 and it felt much nicer on herz finger. The sizes are right inside the ring (but if you line them up you can figure them out without looking inside).

Az u can see da rings do not fits my paw.

Art SetUS Art Supply Wood Table Box Easel Painting Set is a purrfect hobby set for kids or adults. This is the acrylic paint set (they have an oil or watercolor set too). The set comes with a nice wooden table-top easel  that has a draw full of  everything you need for a beginner artist. There are 12 tubes of acrylic paint, 4 brushes of different sizes, plastic pallet (for mixing colors), a pallet knife (also plastic), an HB pencil and three 9″ x 12″ canvas panels.

The easel folds down and the draw locks inside for a nice easy to carry kit with handle. I only wish there was a place to hold the canvases so it was all together in one package. The draw sticks a little and is very narrow. You’ll only ever be able to get those tiny tubes in there. Perhaps by the time you finish with this kit you’ll be ready to upgrade to a bigger art box (US Art Supply has a nice DELUXE easel/box too).

The canvas panels were a little warped, but they almost always are. That’s why we prefer stretched canvases, but these will be great to get started on.

If you know someone that is interested in starting to paint, this is a great beginner’s set for young or old.

Im going to make a great work of art wif dis set. Just u wait and see. Master piece will be forthcoming.

Cats Maw Book 2This book has cats, what more does it need? Okay, so maybe a good story. Guess what it has that too.

The Cat’s Maw Book One of The Shadowland Saga

by Brooke Burgess

This is the story of Billy Brahm and the strange and terrible things that happen to him. Billy is a 10 year old boy that seems to be cursed, nothing goes right for him ever. Except maybe (and this is a big maybe) when he meets a certain white and black tabby cat. In fact this meeting only seems to make things worse. Or does it?

Here is the book description:

A BOY. A CAT. A NIGHTMARE LOOSED IN TWO WORLDS!

In the sleepy town of Appleton, a young loner follows a stray cat onto the road and is struck by a car. A leg is shattered, a summer is ruined, and the troubled life of Billy Brahm goes from bad…to cursed.

When the mysterious cat appears at his bedside, Billy is haunted by strange and prophetic dreams — the creatures in them speak of Watchers, and Shadows, and the Enemy that Awakens.

Does this impossible realm hold the key to healing the broken boy? Is the golden-eyed cat there to help him, or to make the nightmares come true?

Too frightened to share the truth with his strict adoptive parents, Billy realizes that the only ones he can turn to are the local vet’s daughter, the town’s ‘crazy cat lady’…

…and a mystical tiger, beckoning from his dreams.

This book is geared toward the YA crowd but that doesn’t mean adults won’t enjoy it.

The only thing we did not care for too much were the dream sequences. Billy’s dreams (or are they glimpses into an alternate reality) are a little on the strange side (making them a little hard to follow and a little hard for H2 to get thru), but aren’t dreams usually weird any way? I think some of the questions raised by this book will be answered in book two or others in the series to come.

We gived it a four paws up (4 out of 5 stars). Get ur paws on a copy.

We quite liked it (even with the slight issue of not quite following the dreams…we think that has more to do with H2’s dyslexia than the story itself) and we fink it would be a pawsum pick fur #ReadPawty.

Koi Selfie StickThis is a purrty pawsum selfie stick, cause it is so much more than just a selfie stick!

The Koi Selfie Scope 4-in-1 Bluetooth Handheld Selfie Stick not just a selfie stick that is compatible with any bluetooth enabled smart phone (android or iphone), it is also a LED flashlight (torch) and a 2200mAh Power Bank so you can charge up your phone after you take all those selfies! Plus it has a 1/4″ screw to fit most cameras (there is some assembly required when you get this puppy, but that is part of what makes it better than others).

It fits most smarts phones even in their cases (we tried it on an iPhone 5 & 6 but not the big iPhone 6+). Pairs with the device quickly and easily.

Koi Selfie StickTwist the telescoping end and it locks making for a sturdier feeling stick when holding your phone out for the photo. An actual power button to turn it on (no guessing if it will work or not).

It is a little longer when completely folded than other selfie sticks so isn’t quite as easy to carry every where with you, but selfie enthusiasts will find a way. The bright color handle makes it easier to spot when it is in a dark bag.

The handle comes off easily so you can use it as a shutter release with the phone or camera on a tripod instead of being handheld. There is even a female 1/4″ attachment so the stick itself could even be used on a tripod (great to a steady an over head shot to get photos above a crowd).

Easy to assemble and easy to use.

Pet Booster Seat

I let the sisfur monters inspect the box for me.

Since I did review the other automobile accessories for pets from Devoted Doggy I figured why not test out da booster seat too.

This sucker is really nice for small doggies (up to 20 lbs). Dogs bigger than that don’t need a booster seat to see out the windows.

It is designed for use in the front seat, but I guess it could be used in the back it just would not be as secure since you might not be able to wrap the lower strap around the seat ( afterthought — since our car seats fold flat in the back we could have tried to use it back there and honestly would prefer to use it in the back). There are dangers to your dog having them in the front passenger seat especially in a booster seat like this known as the air bag. Our front seat has a sensor that when anything less than an adult human is sitting in the seat the airbag is turned off in the car. When using the booster seat we would need to put something on the seat like a heavy bag or half gallon of milk to trigger the sensor. Otherwise since the booster hovers a few inches off the seat the car will never know (and we don’t have a manual way to turn off that airbag).

Booster Seat

Phoebe wanted in it to take a ride. MOL

The booster seat feels sturdy (it has a metal frame) and it folds flat for easy storage when not in use. Once again very easy to install even without instructions and both sets of straps adjust so you get a perfect fit for your car. There is a small strap inside the car seat to hook to your pups collar or, preferably, harness so they stay put.

The interior is made from a nice grey fleece that can be removed to be washed if someone happens to have dirty paws (or worse a dirty butt). MOL.

There is even a small zipper pocket in the front (not sure what you would keep in there — maybe a few poopy bags).

we think our small doggy pals would enjoy riding around in the car in this booster seat. Maybe even a few cats out there might not even mind it so much.

The Luxury Pet Booster Seat certainly is just that a luxury for little dogs to be given the ability to see what is going on around them when in the car for drives!
