Photo ops will be available on-site; details on arrangements will be outlined at the booth.

The appearance is timed to help commemorate the release of Grumpy’s first-ever comic book, The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat and Pokey #1, which will be hitting comics retailers worldwide, as well as leading digital distributors, on Wednesday, October 7th. Issue #1 features Grumpy and her brother, Pokey, in the first of her all-new misadventures in a three-issue miniseries shipping monthly October through December.

When asked for comment on her momentous first issue, Grumpy stated: “I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m sure it’s terrible… and look forward to using copies as scratching post material.”

Dynamite Series Editor Rich Young says, “I’ve had a blast editing these comics, and contrary to what Grumpy might think, I believe fans of Grumpy Cat are going to get a real kick out of seeing her in comic book form, and the trouble that she and her brother Pokey manage to get into (and out of).”

“Being able to bring Grumpy to New York Comic Con is incredible. Grumpy’s schedule is jam-packed, and we’re fortunate that her team will be able to bring her to the con for comic fans. We’re also bringing artist Ken Haeser who drew the NYCC Exclusive cover. We invite Grumpy’s fans, as well as our own, to join the fun,” says Dynamite CEO/Publisher Nick Barrucci.

Dynamite is also happy to announce plans for a follow-up to the hit three-issue miniseries. The new Grumpy Cat comic book series will launch in February 2016. Look for details in Diamond Comics’ December 2015 Previews catalog, advertising products slated for February 2016 release.

Grumpy Cat’s global following includes 7.6 million Facebook fans and over 31 million YouTube views. She has two New York Times Bestselling Books, her own Lifetime movie Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever (voiced by actress Aubrey Plaza), has made numerous appearances including the MTV Movie Awards, American Idol, The Bachelorette, The Today Show, SXSW, Good Morning America, and even hosted WWE Monday Night Raw. Additionally, Grumpy Cat interior and cover artist Ken Haeser will be signing and drawing commissions at the Dynamite booth on Saturday, and Dynamite will make a Grumpy Cat #1 New York Comic-Con exclusive available coinciding with the NYCC celebration of the live Grumpy Cat appearance.

Magic Cat Human2 and I are learning card tricks. I know weird thing for a kitteh to do, but we have some young nieces, nephews, cousins and friends kids that might be impressed by our magic paws. So when we were offered an opportunity to review The Ultimate Card Magic Trick set we jumped on it.

At first we were a little weirded out by having to learn something from a video (we don’t even watch too many kitteh videos online). Video just isn’t how Human2 learns. But after watching the introduction and the first lesson, the guy in the video is right. A book simply cannot show you how the moves are done. Plus with a video you can pause and rewind as much as you want to see exactly how it is done.

I have not yet mastered even the first card trick, but I know with some practice I will!

The set comes with a play mat (neoprene mat like a mouse pad but bigger), a deck of cards and a six DVD toolbox with over 170 different card trick moves. We have only watched and tried a few tricks at this point, but think the set holds promise (whether or not we do is another story — MOL).

When all is said and done I will be a pawsum magician. 😉

Next time we are invited to a little people party we will wow them with our card tricks.

Seriously. Whether it is in a car, on a plane or just in my living room who doesn’t want to have the window seat? Some windows, however, do not have large enough window sills. That’s where something like this handy Window Mounted Cat Bed comes in handy.

 Window Seat

We had to all inspect the Window Cat Bed it first arrived. The pad was a nice soft fleecy material. The frame came in four parts and came with the wires already attached on one side.

Window Cat Bed  Window Cat Bed

While this was mostly easy to put together there were a few tricky areas. The instructions were nearly impossible to follow as the black and white photos were of poor quality (the entire instruction sheet looked like something out of a 40s/50s product right down to the old typewriter font — sorry no photos of said instructions). The side of the blue canvas material were stitched and the plastic frame was supposed to slide in and then the velcro end pieces easily wrapped around the ends of the frame. I say, supposed to, as they did not go in easily. They were sewn just a little too tightly. Especially on one side. The third time trying it and starting with the tighter side first worked, but boy was it frustrating.

No where on the product does it say how large a cat it would hold, but we knew off the bat it wouldn’t hold this big guy. The sisfur monsters only weigh about 8 or 10 pounds so they were the guinea pigs.

The wires were different lengths so it was hard to get the bed straight on the window. The windows were clean but the suction cups came off about an hour after we hung it up. The manufacturer suggested cleaning the cups with alcohol and trying again. We did and they stayed put (but the humans never felt comfortable leaving us with it after they came off and of course fear of me getting on it was a concern too). We have donated this to One By One in hopes that one of the foster families will be able to use it as we feel it is made nicely and if applied to clean windows with clean cups it should stay up. While we can only give this like 3-3.5 stars we haven’t had it long enough to really judge it fairly. If we hear from someone at the shelter we will definitely update our review to share their thoughts on the Window Cat Bed too.

Window Cat Bed

A little straighter and a little sturdier. Makes for a great bird watching perch.

A Dogs Purpose

In Honor of National Dog Week, DreamWorks Studios in association with Walden Media celebrate the many purposes of our canine friends with a sneak peek from the set of their latest film, “A Dog’s Purpose.” Look for the movie in theaters next year.

Walden Media, producer of such hit films as “The Chronicles of Narnia” series, “Bridge to Terabithia,” “Charlotte’s Web,” and the “Journey to the Center of the Earth” series, will co-finance and co-produce DreamWorks Studios’ upcoming film “A Dog’s Purpose.” Based on the best-selling novel, “A Dog’s Purpose” is an inspirational story of one devoted dog finding his purpose in the lives of the humans he loves.

Dennis Quaid (“Far From Heaven,” “The Rookie”), Britt Robertson (“Tomorrowland,” “Delivery Man”), K.J. Apa (“Shortland Street”), Juliet Rylance (“The Knick,” “Frances Ha”) and Peggy Lipton (“Mod Squad,” “Twin Peaks”) join the film, which is being directed by Academy Award nominated director Lasse Hallstrom (“The Hundred-Foot Journey,” “Chocolat”). Based on the beloved book by W. Bruce Cameron, the screenplay was written by Cameron & Cathryn Michon and Audrey Wells. Gavin Polone is producing with Alan Blomquist and Mark Sourian serving as executive producers. Production on the canine tale begins this month in Winnipeg, Canada, where its variety of locations afford the filmmakers the opportunity to tell this multi-generational story.

“This heartwarming and humorous tale is a great addition to our quality storytelling brand,” said Michael Wright, CEO of DreamWorks Studios. “Together with our partners at Walden, we believe that with Lasse Hallstrom directing, ‘A Dog’s Purpose’ will find its way into the hearts of families everywhere.”

“We are proud to once again partner with the great team at DreamWorks on ‘A Dog’s Purpose,’ a heartfelt and uplifting story that is in great hands with Lasse Hallstrom directing,” said Frank Smith, President and CEO of Walden Media. “This film is a perfect addition as we continue to build and diversify our slate and bring audiences movies that inspire and entertain.”

“Walden Media is the perfect partner for this very special story, and we couldn’t be more pleased to have them on board,” said Jeff Small, President and COO of DreamWorks Studios.

Published by Forge Books, “A Dog’s Purpose” spent 52 weeks on the New York Times Best Sellers list. It has been translated into 20 languages and is published in 29 different countries worldwide.

“A Dog’s Purpose” joins Walden Media’s growing slate, which includes a diverse range of films that every member of a family can enjoy. Other upcoming projects include Universal Pictures’ dramatic adventure/thriller “Everest” starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin, Jason Clarke, Keira Knightley, John Hawkes, Sam Worthington, Emily Watson and Robin Wright (September 18, 2015) and “The BFG” directed by Steven Spielberg and based on Roald Dahl’s beloved novel (July 1, 2016).

Donate to Cat RescueEvery year we go to the Walk for the Animals. This year we attended but instead of running an online fundraiser for HSBC we are asking that you help us help One By One Cat Rescue. This summer they helped rescue a ton of kittens and their vet bills are over $7000 just for August alone.

You have been a very loyal support of my events (SCIFIpawty and/or Walk for the Animals) and I hope you can see it in your hearts to give again.

The donation page is here: https://www.youcaring.com/one-by-one-cat-rescue-435158#goto-fundraiser-details

All donations no matter the amount help 1×1 help kitties from all over not just in my area. They pull cats out of high kill shelters across the eastern seaboard. Please dig in your couches and clean out the bottom of your purses and give to the animals.

Thank you so much for your past support and for whatever amount you might be able to give again.

The YouCaring page runs through Paypal, but I believe you can still donate with a credit card if need be. Also the site does auto-fill $1 with your donation for the site. You can click the link next to the adjust and change that amount to $0. Otherwise (unlike FirstGiving) they don’t take any other fees from 1×1. All donations go right into One By One’s Paypal account for immediate use for the kitties.

Donate to Cat RescueCaturday da 19th iz da 38th Annual Walky for da Animals and Im sending Human2 out once again to halp raising moneys for anipals. Dis iz a huge event raising money for a huge non-profit in our area, but dis year we are going to asking you not to donates to HSBC but rather to One By One. Each of these rescues is doing a great job but because One by One is so small and HSBC is so big I don’t finks it will hurting HSBC to share da moneys ad it will MEAN SO MUCH to 1×1 kitties.

One By One has taken in a bunch of kittens dis summer and are finding dem furever homes, but dis takes a lot of $$$ and most of these lil buggers have had to be seen by a vet cause of being sicky on top of regular shots and getting spayed/neutered etc.

So please takes a moment to give to One By One and Human2 will give extra scritched to all da kitties for every donation made!

Dice BagHuman2 and I were checking out da purrty pawsum dice bag from Third-Die.com and it really iz purrty sweet. Anybuddy wot plays games wif dice like Dungeons & Dragons or even counters like in Magic should oughta hab a nice bag like dis.

Da Third Die Dice Bags r handcrafted in a nice soft material (and da bag has nice hangy down draw strings wot are fun fur a kitteh to play wif). Best feature of da bag is da standing stay open feature. Dat makes it beary nice to grab your dice out of da bag wif out having to dump dem all over da place. We are currently using it fur our Zombie Dice game. It iz purrfect for dat.

Here iz Human2’s review…

It is a very nicely made bag to hold all your gaming dice. The bag is handcrafted from a soft material. Soft but it is still sturdy enough to stand and stay open which is a great during gaming. We are currently using it for our Zombie Dice game because it is so much easier to pull the dice out of the bag than it is to use the little cup the game comes with (especially if adding any of the expansion dice sets

I really wanted to give this bag 5 stars, but I just can’t for two reasons.

1) Yes, it is handcrafted and nicely so, but where is it made? Nothing in the description, website or packaging tells us this information.

2) I can’t get the drawstrings to close tightly. There is still an opening at the top about the size of a quarter that any size die could easily fall out of. The bag is still new so I am hoping with use this opening will get smaller and smaller.

I do like that the draw strings lock in place so it won’t slip open and spill all the dice, but I don’t want one of the little buggers slipping away unnoticed either.

I am finkin dat I could keep mice in der instead of dice. Wot do u all finks?

Da Volmate USB Charging Station comes in handy when you needs to charge your iPhone, iPad, BlueTooth speakers, selfie sticks and MP3 players all at da same time!

Here is wall chargerHuman2’s Amazon.com review of da

I have to give this only 4 stars as I had a small issue charging a selfie stick with this charger. I feel the issue was more likely with the selfie stick and not this as it worked great charging my iPhone, MP3 player and Bluetooth speaker (individually and together). Lights came on while charging everything except that darn stick.

It only measures 4″x4″x1.25″ so it does not up a lot of desk space and it is nice to be able to charge using a wall charging station instead of a PC that’s for sure.

Charge up to 8 things all in one place. Before I had this I had three in one power strip upstairs and 2 in the kitchen.

Now I just need to organize the cords and get it set up where I can best use it. Not sure if it will be staying with my PC or move it into my room next to the bed.

Another possible use in the near future for me would be to power multiple Arduino microcontrollers all plugged into this using a USB to 5v DC cord.

We will letting you knows if we ever try it out wif a LEGO and Arduino project. I needs to lights up sum of my LEGO houses and fings.

Wall Cover PlugWhen we first saw dis product to review we said, “huh?” Den it occurred to us dat Curious pets need to be protected from wall outlets just like babies and kids do! That is exactly what this product does. Protects pets and kids from sticking fings into da outlets wot don’t belong der. Now to keep us from nommin on da cords!

It covers da entire outlet and sits flush against da wall. Making hard to come off so no little person or pup is going to get this sucker off the wall and still get shocked when the COVERPLUG is in place!

Only fing we found to complain about is da covering of da whole outlet! We use all our outlets in da house. Plus we hab an older house wif a lot of 2 prong plug outlets still in place. (These work by plugging into da ground hole of a three prong outlet).

Each pack comes with 2 outlet covers.

It is paintable, so it can match any wall color. And it is made in the USA. YAY!

Two major pluses for this product!

Human2 and I lub our chickyum dinners. Okay, so I lub dem a lil more den herz doz. When herz iz cooking chickyum I will lay in fCooking Thermometerront of the oven until that buzzer goes off. Normally, H2 cooks da chickyum a lil too done cause well chickyum needs to be cooked right or we could both get sicky from it.

When herz wuz offered a chance to review a cooking thermometer we jumped on it. We had never used one afore and thought mehbe it is time to do this right.

The MeasurePro Cooking Thermometer arrived and we ran out and got some chickyum for to trying it out.

So we followed da instruction n set dis puppy up fur chickyum. That part was easy peasy. Da hard part was waitin for da chickyum to get done!

The thermometer has magnets on the back so we could stick it to da side of da fridge while it did its thing. H2 set da timer for when herz would hab taken da chickyum out without a thermometer and guess wot? Herz woulda poisoned us by makin us eated undone chickyum! Okay, so maybe not cause I knows herz woulda checked it and left it in da oven den wound up over cookin it!

When da kitchen timer buzzed da thermometer showed da meat wasn’t up to temperature yet so herz left it in until it buzzed to tell us ur chicky iz done. About 5-7 more minutes and it beeped and we gotted to eat da chicky! YUM!

Easy clean up on the probe and everything got stored in our pantry fur next time. Would hab been nice to hab a pouch or container to keep da unit and probe together. But we will figure sumfin out so da probes wire doz no get messed up.

Iz ur chicky safe to eat? Mines iz now!
