Ellie_MaeDis sweet pupper dog wuz rescued by da fine folks at The Buddy Rescue Foundation a few months ago from a “shelter” in  South Carolina where herz wuz a bout to be put down (dis makes r hearts hurt dat so many anipals wot go into shelters never come out — especially in da south).

Ellie Mae wuz lucky, but herz still needs r halp. Da human wot had her neglected her & now herz needs surgeries to halping stop da pain.

Just look at dem sweet big floppy ears! (Human2 lubs floppy ears — da ears on a doggy r wot makes herz lub dem.) Well Ellie Mae’s ears r wot be causing all da pain. Years of neglected ear infections have cause her serious problems and now herz in NJ habbin ear ablation surgeries in both ears. Please keeps herz in ur pwayers today and we needs a #pawcircle dat herz not only gets better but gets a forever home affer herz all betterer.

Also da surgery iz gonna cost da rescue lots of green papers. If you can halp dem out I knows we could make dis doggies life a lots better. Da chip in for da shelter for Ellie Mae’s surgery is here: http://buddyrescue.chipin.com/ellie-maes-ear-medication-and-surgery

Wowzers! I bet by now you haz herd dat Freekibble.com iz donating 500,000 Healthy Holiday Meals of Ellen DeGeneres’ Halo Pet Food to Pets in Need. DAT IZ SO PAWSUM!

I fink it wunnerful how we can halp feed dem anipals wif just a click (& a fun click at dat) every day. And to see dat all dem anipals will be getting tons of food makes dis kitteh PURR!

Here da infos on da Kibble Drop and how it happens. Plus I gotted some cool phtos of one of da drops in Bone Marche in St. Louis Park, MN where some beary happy peoples got to pick up some foods for der rescues. In total 7 organizations picked up a total of 13,000 meals of Halo Spot’s Stew pet food: Animal Ark Shelter, Midwest Animal Rescue, Homeward Bound, Morrison County Humane Society, A Rotta Love, The Pet Project and Steele County Humane Society. And dats just one Kibble Drop!

Tampa, Fla. – This holiday season, homeless pets across

the nation will be looking and feeling their best, thanks to Ellen DeGeneres and a 16-year-old girl named Mimi Ausland.

DeGeneres, who co-owns Halo, Purely for Pets, and Ausland, who founded Freekibble.com when she was just 11 years old, are launching their

second annual Holiday Kibble

Drop. The initiative will deliver 500,000 meals of all natural Halo Spot’s Stew to pets in need across the country.

Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, December 5 and continuing throughout the month, The Kibble Drop trucks will make a combined 14 stops throughout this holiday season, making food donations to 69 shelters and rescues, including many along the east coast that were impacted by Superstorm Sandy.

At most of the Kibble Drop stops, Halo retailers have generously provided a place where area shelters and rescues can meet the truck and pick up their Freekibble.com donation of Halo’s Spot’s Stew all-natural dog and cat food. [DY1]

The Holiday Kibble Drop provides homeless pets the highest quality food possible. Organizations that feed the pets in their care premium food like Halo say it makes a big difference in their health and well-being and even in their adoptability. In a recent survey of 85 shelter professionals, 71% said that better food quality “definitely helps” dogs and cats to get adopted.

And helping homeless pets find their forever homes is a cause close to co-owner Ellen DeGeneres’ heart. “Pet adoption is something I’m extremely passionate about. I believe that by working together, we can find good homes for the millions of homeless and abandoned pets out there,” she says.

Providing high quality, nutritious food to shelters and rescues to help increase adoptions is also an important part of the Freekibble.com mission.

Since 2008, Freekibble.com has donated more than 8 million meals to shelters and rescues. Each day, Freekibble.com and Freekibblekat.com feature a new trivia question. Visitors to the sites can answer the questions and right or wrong, earn 10 piece
As Freekibble.com’s official pet food sponsor since 2010, Halo donates the kibble distributed to shelters and rescues throughout the U.S.s of kibble for homeless pets.

“It makes me feel great to know that so many homeless dogs and cats will be getting healthy, nutritious meals over the holidays. I really believe feeding them such a high quality food will make their holidays a bit brighter while they’re waiting for their forever homes,” says Freekibble.com founder, 16-year-old Mimi Ausland.

Three of this year’s Kibble Drop stops are at Pet Supplies Plus stores, which brought the Halo line into its 250 locations in 23 states earlier this year– bolstering its commitment to provide our “pet companions with a happier, healthier life.”

petsmart santa pawsYour heart need not be three sizes too small this holiday season. PetSmart and Fetch for Pets!, creators of The Grinch by Dr. Seuss, a new line of pet holiday apparel and toys at PetSmart this season, are teaming up to help save the lives of homeless pets with “Pin It for Pets.”

From Dec. 1-16, pin a picture of your pet showing their holiday spirit with the #pinitforpetsmart hashtag on Pinterest, and PetSmart Charities will receive a $25 donation per photo, up to $25,000, to help save homeless pets.

“For every $25 given to PetSmart Charities, one homeless pet’s life can be saved through adoption,” said John Alpaugh, PetSmart’s chief marketing officer. “The holidays are about giving back, and this year, sharing a photo of your pet celebrating the season can give you more happiness by helping a homeless pet. More than 5 million pets have been adopted through the PetSmart Charities adoption centers located in every PetSmart store since 1994.”

petsmart santa pawsOne place to capture your pet’s holiday spirit is at the Santa Claws® photo events held at all PetSmart stores during the first three weekends in December. Pet parents can have a photo of their pet taken with Santa for just $9.95 with a PetPerks® membership, and $5 from every photo package will be donated to participating local animal-welfare organizations – all the more reason to celebrate the season.

“Fetch for Pets is so excited to bring Dr. Seuss’s classic characters from How The Grinch Stole Christmas to PetSmart and proud to be a part of the ‘Pin It for Pets’ initiative,” said Steven Shweky, president of Fetch for Pets!. “PetSmart’s Santa Claws photo events make it even easier to take a photo of your pet getting into the holiday spirit. Simply snap a photo, post with the #pinitforpetsmart hashtag and you’re done! It’s that easy to help save the lives of homeless pets.”

Pet parents who want to “Pin It for Pets” and help save the life of a homeless pet can follow these easy steps:

  • Go to Pinterest and upload a picture of your pet in a holiday theme
