This cute guy (originally called Boo by da lil girls what halped save him from da streets, but now named Maxwell) needs a furever and ever home!
Human2’s bestest pal saved dis lil guy from bein runned ovah on da mean city streets. He was darting cars and wuz nearly hit when she pulled up outside her home in downtown Reading, PA. She scooped him up and wanted desperately to keep him. But her allergies to cats just would not let her do it.
Herz had hives all over herz arms n chest when herz brought Maxwell ovah to meet ma humanz and still herz took he home in hopes dat herz would be able to keep he. No such luck.
Luckily ma pals ovah at 1×1 sed dey would take he. Now H2 n her pal haz to get Maxwell to da V-E-T to get shots n run tests. Iffen he iz good to go den off to One By One and a new furever home.
He is VERY sweet. He likes doggies (currently living wif 4 schipperkes), tolerates young kids and haz da makings of a lap cat.
He has long furs and a loverly floofy tail. N LOOK AT DEM EAR FURS!
Please donates to One By One on der website so dey can pay fur Maxwell’s vet and halp utter kittehs just like him! (click on da DONATE link in upper right corner. After you log into PayPal you can Add special instructions to the seller and let dem knows it for Maxwell’s vet bills.) FANKS U!

The cocker spaniel, Jack, dat i hab been tryin to get into a rescue or even better adopted had an appointment to interview humans on Sunday. Human2 picked up Jack from his owners in Mohton, pa and drove him all the way up to Northampton, pa to meet da humans and see da rescue folks dat been halpin us.
Jack n H2 got der a lil early and went ahead in and met da folks who were really nice n Jack went right to dem n said hallooooo. We got a tour of da house n Jack got to see da yard n meet his potential brofur Max, a lil bichon/shih tzu mix (nikki n buttons rolled into one). O & he meeted rest of fambly too. Four kittehs.
All were good togetter n Jack seemed to like da people n da people seemed to likes Jack. He grabbed every toy in da house n walked around wif it in his mouth for a lil while dem went back fur anutter one.
Well to makes dis long story short… JACK GOT HE SELF A NEW GOOD HOME TODAY!!!!
Dis wuz da first ever home visit H2 haz been on n we knows dey not all go dis good. But we so happy dat Jack iz gonna get da lub n care dat he needs. Sorry it took us a few days to get dis posted here, but H2 had an asthma attack frum being in da car wif a doggy and wuzn’t qwite rite fur a few days affer. But it wuz worth it to get Jack a good home.
His new humanz hab alreddy gotted him a new hair cut, a new harness and he haz seed da vet alreddy about his allergies n skin probs. Dis is where he still needs r halp.
Yup he still needs r halp n im gonna throw a mini halloweenie pawty in his honor (date and time TBD).Pawty fundraiser will benefit Buddy Rescue Foundation n halp pay Jacks vet bills.
Please donate today to halp Jack.
a mostly werdless wednesday post
Meet Jack. Jack needs a new home. Can u halp me halp him?
He iz a sweet, 6 year old cocker spaniel doggy dat desperately needs a new home. Da humanz dat hab he sez dey can no longer affords to taking care of he.
He haz allergies and takes meds every day, but he haz never been fully tested and it could simply be his diet (u dunt knows til u get he da treatments he needs).
So he is a special needs doggy, but a special one fur sure.
He haz spended the last six years of he life livin in a bathroom. He needs a house dat he can roam and yard to run in. He is quiet and well behaved (but he might get a wild streak in he once he has been set free of his confined space….I knows I would).
I am afraid da humanz wot hab he now r gonna dump he at a kill shelter. You take a guess at wot da chances of a special needs, senior doggy will be in a place like dat?
Jack needs an adopter or a foster home now!
I am hopin to get he a lubbin home but if I cannot I hope a no-kill rescue will step up and take he.
I cannot az we kitties would not be able to live wif a doggy n Human2 iz beary allergic (herz will break out in hive n stop breathin….we needs herz to take care of us so we can no halp Jack).
Human2 sez herz will drive he to anyone in PA, NJ, NY, OH, VA, WV. Plus we r trying to get his vet records too. He should be up on all his shots (he wuz just at dat vet).
I am also gonna try n start a fundraiser to gib to wot ever rescue comes n saves he. So iffen u can halp me find a rescue and den halp me halp dem wif expenses me n Jack would be in ur debt.
If you can think of any rescue or shelter that can help us place Jack please leave their info in the comments below. FANKS U!
Human2 sed dat today when herz goin to werk herz seed sumfin wot really ticked her off. It wuz an aggressive driver but not just any old aggressive driver tho.
Dis guy wuz tailgatin while speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. Yup aggressive driver fur sure. But here is wot got us mad.
He had a kennel in the back of his truck and inside dat kennel wuz a boxer pup!
Yes da kennel wuz secured but da poor pup wuz not!
So while dis jerk wuz takin turns at 40+ mph n weavin in n out of traffic the poor pup wuz in da back gettin knocked round n slammed into da sides of da cage.
Da lil boxer wuz sittin up trying he hardest to stays put, but we could seed it in his face he wuz skeered n did not knows wot wuz goin on.
If H2 did not hab to go to werk herz woulda followed day guy and got his info. As it wuz he wuz driving too fast for conditions even wif out a pup in da back. Herz bets herz would no hab been able to keep up. But would hab lubbed to report dis guy. Dats just not rite!!!
Sum peeple shuld not be allowed to hab animals (or kids for dat matter).
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT!!!!!!!!!
Jake was rescued by Buddy Rescue Foundation when dey went to rescue anutter doggy down south (u know dey hab hi kill rates in dem shelters down der). Jake wuz in da cage next to da doggy dey were getting n da peeps just knew dis doggy needed saved too…dey just didn’t knows how much he needed dem until later.
I will let de folks at Buddy Rescue Foundation tell you all about it, but Jake had to hab surgery n dey needs r halp payin fur vet bills. If u can spare a few green papers I knows dey will appreciates it. Once u read his story I finks u will be diggin ur wallet out & findin all da spare changin in da sofa to sends to dem.
Please share Jake’s story so we can halp get him a furever home too!
From the Buddy Rescue Foundation…
Every once in a while we have a rescue story that we share, that shows the true meaning of what rescue is all about. Jake’s is one of the more heartwarming stories we’ve had, of how an unlikely rescue dog touches the hearts of many along the way, and everyone comes together to make a difference to that one little dog.
Jake was rescued by Buddy Rescue Foundation about one month ago from a shelter in Lancaster, SC. He just happened to be in the same kennel run as Sugar, a female walker hound mix we were rescuing. While we had no intention of rescuing him, the two seemed to be bonded and we didn’t want to leave him behind knowing he would be euthanized within hours. All accounts were that he was a happy one-year-old lab mix, playful and loving despite what looked like obvious head trauma he had suffered some time ago. So Sugar and Jake were rescued and transported to PA and everyone along the rescue route from the shelter to transport just loved him and were charmed by his sweet and playful nature and crooked little nose that seemed to add to his charm. We had no idea of the extent of his head trauma and previous injuries until after he arrived with his foster in PA and we saw him drink and eat. He was obviously challenged in that he could not open his mouth more than a half inch, burying his entire nose and mouth in the water and food to drink and eat. While he had clearly adapted, it was on a warm day at an adoption event two weeks later, that we saw that Jake could not open his jaw enough to pant to cool himself down. We knew we had to take significant measures to pursue a diagnosis that would ensure Jake could lead a normal and healthy life.
We pursued a diagnosis at University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Hospital in Philadelphia and received the bad news that indeed Jake’s jaw was fused and only corrective surgery to remove the excess fused bone tissue would free up the joint to allow him to have normal function of his jaw. The recommendation for surgery was inevitable and necessary for Jake’s well-being, so he would not suffer the ill effects of his condition as he continues to grow. The complicated and delicate surgery had some risks but chances were overwhelmingly positive that surgery would correct the jaw movement and function, and his ability to eat and drink and pant normally would be restored.
Thankfully Jake did have his surgery last week, and is doing well. He can now open his mouth approximately six inches compared with the half inch previously! You can see from his post surgery pictures, he can now smile and pant, just like a normal dog! Jake’s surgery was more extensive than anticipated, since Jake’s right jaw was completely fused and the joint had to be removed. The doctors speculate that his jaw and skull had been shattered due to trauma likely from being hit by a car when Jake was a young puppy, and fused as it healed without being treated. Dr. Jennings and the medical team at University of Pennsylvania did a wonderful job in performing the delicate surgery and providing outstanding care for Jake. Jake’s prognosis is good, however he will be on steroids and pain medications for months to come, so his healing preserves range of motion and does not result in more fused bone that would inhibit his jaw movement.
There are so many people to thank that helped get Jake to where he is today. We hope that you will help us to continue to help him by donating to Jake’s fundraiser so we can cover the expensive corrective surgery we had to undertake to ensure his health and well-being. Despite his obvious handicap and the undeniable pain he must have suffered, he is a playful and engaging puppy who will now have a normal pain-free life and make a wonderful addition to any family that will ultimately adopt him. His surgery guarantees that he will continue to be happy and healthy for the rest of his life! Thanks so much for reading Jake’s story and for your support of Jake’s fundraiser! Okai so it wuz really Human2 dat got to witness da kitteh bein saved, but I got all excited when herz comed home and told me about it.
Da utter week H2 stopped by da Humane Society of Berks County like she do to drop off donations (dis time goodies for der raffle durin the Walk for the Animals next week).
Affer visitin sum kittehs inside herz happened upon des two guys n one of the HSBC volunteers outside standin round da storm drain in front of her car.
Being da nosy busy-body dat herz iz, H2 walked ovah to see wot wuz wot. Turned out der wuz a kitteh inside dat storm drain. Don’t knows how hims got himself in der but it wuz not easy to get hims out. Da guys wot were tryin could not get der big long man arms down far enuff to reach he.
And he seemed like such a sweetie too. When dey were reachin down to get him he flopped down n rolled over gibbin ground cheek rubs lookin like he wanted belly rubs! But ploppin down like dat only made it harder to reach him. Silly guy!
Finally, another HSBC staff purrson came out wif a net and noms (net would neber hab werked dats fur sure). Luckily da little guy wuz hungry and reached up to get some of da wet noms off a stick and dats when da guy halpin grabbed he by da scruff and pulled he out of dat tiny, narrow openin in da grate.
Thanks to des two fellows from Albright College wot were payin attenshun n heard da mews comin from dat storm drain dis lil guy wuz saved! *HI PAW*
Update: Human2 just called HSBC about dis guy. He had gone from da Reading Center ovah to Douglasville adoption center but just comed back cause hims got sicky. Please keep he in ur pwayers dat he gets betterer n a forever n ever home! #Pawcircle
